The
FREE BioDiesel 101 Class!

Learn Tomorrows Technology Today!
Our FREE
internet class covers
the basics on how to make a 40
gallon batch of high quality BioDiesel.
For the details
you'll need to get our book HERE.
Our goal is to show you
how easy BioDiesel is to make.
We hope to inspire you to begin making your
own fuel using our book "Pretty Good BioDiesel".
Our exclusive book
contains 215 Hyperlinked pages just jammed packed
with BioDiesel information
and it provides
you with the fine details missing from this free online class. Our exclusive book
covers construction details
to build 3 different safe BioDiesel Processors along with Washing
and Drying Tanks, troubleshooting the process, sources of suppliers and a lot
more. Over 3 years of research has been done for you in this great book all tucked neatly in one place
to save you frustration & time.
Let's
begin CLASS....
BioDiesel is made using
a
chemical process patented back in 1940's by
Colgate
(and others) while looking for a way to manufacture glycerin for the war
effort. The
process was called Transesterification. In layman's terms the Oil molecule chain gets broken up, the alcohol
molecule gets chemically bonded to it with the Lye acting as a Catalyst and
forms a new chemical called a Methyl Ester. This new chemical compound is neither
vegetable oil, nor alcohol and it is not simply vegetable oil thinned with alcohol.
It is a new chemical compound rich in oxygen which makes it burn cleanly. Classified as a non-flammable, it has a flash point much higher than alcohol and even higher than #2 Diesel fuel
making it very safe to store and handle. It provides great lubrication to all
fuel injection components and your engine will run quieter & smoother. It has a very similar
Cetane number, viscosity characteristic and energy density to #2 diesel fuel making it an excellent substitute
fuel. Finished & polished BioDiesel is biodegradable, considered non-toxic
and
because it is carbon neutral, it does not contribute to global warming which makes it
environmentally earth
friendly.
BioDiesel is made
using Vegetable Oil, Alcohol, Lye, Mixing and Heat. It is important
to realize that only organic oils such as corn, soybean, cooking oils and meat oils
such as Fish or meat fats can be used as the base oil. BioDiesel cannot be made out of
petroleum based oils. Most people make BioDiesel out of used restaurant deep
fryer grease which
is normally available locally for free.
Processing a
useable volume of BioDiesel from oil, alcohol & lye
to make 40 gallons at once is where our "All in One" BioDiesel
Processor design comes into play, you will want to get
our book so that you
can build our safe, and effective BioDiesel Processing Equipment and make your
own $1 a gallon biodiesel. Price will vary depending on prevailing chemical
costs in your area at the time. Time of year, spot market prices and location
within country dictate the cost. Be aware this is a well established chemical
process and ALL home brew BioDiesel uses the same chemicals so one processor
will not make fuel any cheaper nor quicker than another, however processor
design will dictate the ease and to some extent the quality of fuel made. Our
Processor designs are well thought out and proven to make fuel much easier than
others.
Check out these numbers for
a relative cost
comparison of 160 gallons
of fuel.
BioDiesel @ $1.00 a gallon
#2 diesel @ $3.00 a gallon
160 gal of BioDiesel =
$160
160 gal of #2 Diesel = $480
Home made BioDiesel would have saved you $320
in fuel costs!
The $320 you saved
more than pays for the book & building your processor.
Key information:
-
The Oil must be DRY because water in
the mix makes soap instead of BioDiesel.
-
The Alcohol must be anhydrous (dry) which is why
most people use Methanol alcohol instead of expensive anhydrous Ethanol. Methanol is cheaper to
purchase, can be purchased cheaply in anhydrous form & does not absorb water out of the air as readily
as Ethanol which are the
reasons why it
is the alcohol of choice for making BioDiesel.
-
The Lye can be either Sodium Hydroxide, or it can be Potassium Hydroxide
(Potash), each has it's own benefits.
Ok, now that we have covered the basics,
lets start looking at how to make BioDiesel as we promised you.
The ten steps to making BioDiesel Fuel
-
Collect waste vegetable oil.
-
Fill processor with oil.
-
Heat oil to the optimum process
temperature.
-
Titrate oil for pH & check dryness.
-
Mix chemicals (Lye & Alcohol).
-
Add chemical mixture to the hot oil.
-
Mix the oil & chemicals for an hour.
-
Stop processing & let settle a few hours.
-
Drain out waste glycerol.
-
Collect the raw BioDiesel Fuel.
-
Wash it.
-
Dry it.
-
Filter & pump it into a storage drum.
-
Filter & Pump it into your vehicle &
drive off.

locate the hyperlinks, starting at the top one open & read each topic, take the
quiz provided at the end of each lesson to see how you did and then move on to the next BioDiesel
lesson.
